Olena Gutor is in her 11th season with the Big Red fencing program. A former college volleyball player and all-around athlete who grew up around fencing, Gutor assists in the everyday operations of the program and the summer camp.

Gutor has served as a counselor at Penn State and at the Bellefonte (Pa.) YMCA, while also volunteering for Special Olympics.

Gutor started her collegiate career as a volleyball player at St. John’s before transferring to Penn State. While there, she worked as an assistant coach at the Mount Olive volleyball camp.

She is a 2005 graduate from Penn State with a degree in Russian translation.
