Jeremy Luterbacher, a former head instructor of fencing at Lausanne University in Switzerland, will begin his second year on Coach Iryna Dolgikh’s staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2008-09 season.

Luterbacher has competed on the Swiss and international level since 1993. Recently, he achieved a ranking of sixth in the national Swiss senior category and placed second at the Swiss national university championships during the 2005-06 season. Prior to that, Luterbacher was the top-ranked Swiss junior fencer and placed second at the Swiss junior nationals in 2004. During his time as a junior fencer, he participated in four junior world cups and three international cadet tournaments.

Luterbacker graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and chemical engineering, before continuing at SFIT for a master’s degree in chemical engineering. He is currently working on his doctorate in chemical engineering.
