A three-year letterman in both sports, he was named to the All-Ivy second team in basketball as a senior when he was third in team scoring with a 12.8 average. In baseball he captained the team in 1965 and was named to the Eastern Intercollegiate League first team as an outfielder. He led the Big Red in batting as a senior with a .348 mark and had one of the top 10 best averages in the league that year. He was the recipient of the Cornell Sun Athlete of the Year Award in ’65. He coached the Big Red freshman basketball team in 1966-67 and again from 1969-71. A graduate of Binghamton (N.Y.) Central High School, he was head basketball coach at Southern Methodist University.
