Three-year starter and letterman in football (1924-25-26). Captained 1926 team which compiled 6-1-1 record. Alternated at center and guard as sophomore; played guard as junior and senior and was a place- kicker. Coach Gil Dobie placed him on an All-Eastern team he was asked to pick for the Associated Press. Excellent golfer. Won Western Junior Amateur Championships in summer of 1925.
