POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – For the first time under head coach Iryna Dolgikh, Cornell competed in the Vassar Invitational and shined defeating all eight opponents it faced on the day. The Big Red defeated Vassar College, 24-3, Haverford, 23-4, Drew, 25-2, Hunter, 24-3, Yeshiva, 25-2, CCNY, 25-2, Sacred Heart, 18-9, and Stevens Institute of Technology, 25-2.

ITHACA, N.Y. - For the first time under head coach Iryna Dolgikh, Cornell will compete in the Vassar Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 15. The Big Red will face Vassar College, Haverford College, Queens College, Drew University, Hunter College, Yeshiva University, the City College of New York and Stevens Institute of Technology. Each school invited will compete against each other in head-to-head match ups of nine points from each weapon. The team with the best record at the end of the day will take the Invitational crown.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- A man who built a distinguished career leading tough men, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. John M. (Jay) Paxton Jr. ‘B.S., ‘73, M. Eng ‘74, will join a notable array of mentors at the Cornell Football Association’s fifth annual Career Day at Schoellkopf this spring. Gen. Paxton is Director for Operations, J-3, of the Joint Staff, which assists the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in accomplishing his mission. He was previously Chief of Staff for Multinational Force Iraq in Baghdad and, before that, commanding general of the First Marine Division.

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women’s fencing team begins its 2009-10 season on Halloween weekend at the Temple Collegiate Open, held at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa. In its 30th year of existence, the Open is one of the largest competitions that Cornell will participate in this season.
