ITHACA, N.Y. -- A rigorous non-conference schedule featuring at least five games against teams that advanced to last year's NCAA tournament highlight the 2010-11 Cornell men's hockey schedule, announced on Friday. The Big Red opens the regular season with a near-repeat of the 2010 NCAA East Regional field, when New Hampshire and RIT visit Lynah Rink on Oct. 29-30.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell junior Riley Nash has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League, the team announced on Monday afternoon. Nash leaves Cornell after three seasons with the Big Red, where he averaged a point per game.

ITHACA, N.Y. – After seeing the departure of one of the top all-around classes in Cornell men’s hockey history, the Big Red will add six players to the roster for the 2010-11 season, announced on Wednesday by Mike Schafer, the Jay R. Bloom Head Coach of Men’s Hockey. The class provides depth in all three areas of the ice, bringing in three forwards, two defensemen and a goaltender in Ithaca-native Andy Iles.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Twelve new members, including five All-Americans and an Olympic medalist, have been selected for induction into the Cornell University Athletic Hall of Fame at the 33rd annual ceremonies to be held October 15, on the Cornell campus. After this year's class is inducted, the membership in the Hall will stand at 522.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell senior men's hockey player Colin Greening has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America first team in the at-large category, the organization announced on Tuesday. Greening is the first men's hockey player to ever earn a spot on the first team and is the second player to twice be named to one of the Academic All-America lists.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell seniors Alyson Intihar (Zelienople, Pa.), Troy Nickerson (Chenango Forks, N.Y.) and Ryan Wittman (Eden Prairie, Minn.) were recipients of the Charles H. Moore Outstanding Senior Varsity Athlete Award on Monday evening at the school's annual senior athletics banquet. Kerry Quinn (Havertown, Pa.) and Liz Zorn (Churchville, N.Y.) both earned the Ronald P. Lynch Senior Spirit Award, given to student-athletes whose leadership on and off the field models the ideals of the Big Red athletics department. Colin Greening (St. John’s, Newfoundland) was recognized with the Mario St. George Boiardi '04 Leadership Award for most embodying leadership, athleticism and a strong work ethic.
