ITHACA, N.Y. -- An amazing eight members of the Cornell women's hockey team have been named to the 22-player roster of the Canadian U22 National Team, announced on Sunday by Hockey Canada head coach Jim Fetter. The octet will represent their home nation in a three-game series against the United States U22 Select team on August 18, 19 and 21 in Toronto, Ontario.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Six games against teams that advanced to the 2010 NCAA tournament headline the schedule for the Cornell women's hockey team, announced on Tuesday by head coach Doug Derraugh. Highlighting the slate is a home-and-home series against Mercyhurst, the team the Big Red defeated in the national semifinals a year ago to advance to the national championship game.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nine members of the Cornell women's hockey program have been invited to Canada's U22 National Team selection camp, which will be held from August 6-15 in Toronto, Ontario. In all, 42 players have been called in to the Canadian camp, with 36 skaters and six goaltenders vying for spots on the U22 national team.

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell seniors Alyson Intihar (Zelienople, Pa.), Troy Nickerson (Chenango Forks, N.Y.) and Ryan Wittman (Eden Prairie, Minn.) were recipients of the Charles H. Moore Outstanding Senior Varsity Athlete Award on Monday evening at the school's annual senior athletics banquet. Kerry Quinn (Havertown, Pa.) and Liz Zorn (Churchville, N.Y.) both earned the Ronald P. Lynch Senior Spirit Award, given to student-athletes whose leadership on and off the field models the ideals of the Big Red athletics department. Colin Greening (St. John’s, Newfoundland) was recognized with the Mario St. George Boiardi '04 Leadership Award for most embodying leadership, athleticism and a strong work ethic.

ITHACA, N.Y. - Come celebrate the success of Cornell athletic teams from the winter season, including the women's ice hockey and wrestling team's national runner-up finishes, the men's basketball Sweet 16 run, men's ice hockey's NCAA appearance and ECAC title, gymnastics' Ivy Classic crown and the fencing team's top 15 NCAA finish with a celebration on Tuesday, April 6 beginning at 4 p.m. at Newman Arena. Featured guest speakers will include University President David J. Skorton, Vice President Susan Murphy and Director of Athletics Andy Noel. Doors open at 4 p.m., with the program beginning at 4:30 p.m., followed by an autograph session with the teams. Come celebrate with the teams and their coaches, along with the Big Red cheerleaders and Pep Band. Cornell merchandise will be on sale as well. The celebration is free and open to the public.
