ITHACA, N.Y. – Mike Stevens, The Carl H. Meinig ’31 Head Coach of Women’s Tennis at Cornell University, got his first look at the Big Red class of 2014, as he welcomed four newcomers to East Hill this week. The team welcomes four rookies to the squad – twin sisters Kelly and Shannon Comolli (Newburyport, Mass.), Elizabeth Kaufman (Potomac, Md.) and Ryann Young (Northbrook, Ill.).

PHILADELPHIA – The Cornell University women’s tennis team wrapped up its season today with a convincing 6-1 victory over Penn this afternoon at the Lott Courts in Philadelphia, Pa. The 6-1 margin of victory is the largest by the Big Red in Ivy League play this season. Cornell picked up the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, before earning singles victories from Christine Ordway (No. 1), Kristin Lim (No. 2), Susan Sullivan (No. 4), Sarah O’Neil (No. 5) and Ruxandra Dumitrescu (No. 6).

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell University women’s tennis team fell to Princeton, 6-1, this afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center in Ithaca, N.Y. With the win, the Tigers claim at least a share of the Ivy League title, while the Big Red falls to 11-10 overall and 1-5 in the conference. Cornell’s lone win of the day came from Susan Sullivan, who defeated Rachael Saiontz, in the No. 3 spot.

ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell (11-9, 1-4) will close out the season in matches against Princeton (18-5, 5-0) and Penn (4-13, 0-5). The Big Red welcomes the Tigers to the Reis Tennis Center on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m., before traveling to Philadelphia for a match vs. the Quakers at Lott Courts on Sunday, April 18 at noon.

The Big Red received victories from Susan Sullivan and Leah Seyburn at the No. 5 and No. 6 spot, respectively. Cornell wraps up its season next weekend as it plays host to Princeton on Friday, April 16, before travelling to Penn on Sunday, April 18.
