NEW YORK – Tickets are still available for the upcoming 21 Dinner, to be held this Saturday, Jan. 26 2008 at Bridgewaters in New York City. The 21 Dinner honors the life and legacy of former Cornell University men’s lacrosse player George Boiardi.
Boiardi, whose life was tragically cut short during his senior season, proudly wore jersey number 21 as a captain of the Big Red men’s lacrosse team. He was an accomplished student, athlete, and campus leader who was committed to joining Teach For America’s South Dakota corps following graduation.
The 21 Dinner will feature Michael Johnston as its keynote speaker, and once again, the evening will be emceed by Cornell alumnus Jeremy Schaap ’91. Johnston is a Teach For America alumnus (Delta Corps ’97) and author of In the Deep Heart’s Core, while Schaap, an Emmy Award-winning reporter for ESPN is the noted author of New York Times bestseller Cinderella Man.
All proceeds from the 21 Dinner will benefit The Mario St. George Boiardi Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to empower the next generation through athletics and academics.
