ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's and women's basketball teams will have one last opportunity to look back on their historic 2007-08 Ivy League championship runs when the programs unveil their championship banners prior to Friday night's men's game against South Dakota. The unveiling will be prior to the 8:30 tip-off and will be part of a doubleheader that will begin with the Cornell volleyball team playing Ancient Eight foe Dartmouth at 6 p.m. at Newman Arena in Bartels Hall. Admission to the men's basketball game will also allow spectators to view the volleyball match.
Collectively, Cornell became the first school in Ivy League history to crown its men's and women's team champions in the same season. The women's team enjoyed an unprecedented season, setting schools records with 20 wins and 11 Ivy League victories on the way to the program's first Ancient Eight title. The men's team won its third Ivy League title in program history, setting team records with 22 wins and posting a perfect 14-0 conference slate, just the 13th team in league history to go unbeaten.
Tickets for Friday's game can be purchased at the Cornell Athletics Ticket Office in Bartels Hall during regular business hours, on the web at
