ITHACA,N.Y.- History was made on Saturday as the Cornell men's squash team beat Harvard, 6-3, for the first time in the program's 47-year history. The win moves the Big Red to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in Ivy League play.
The match saw great performances from the team as a whole. Freshmen
David Hilton (#8) and
Charlie Wagner (#6) gave the team a great start, each shutting out their opponents, 3-0. Junior
Chris Vernick (#9) clinched the match with his 3-2 win over Harvard's Will Ahmed. The match was the squash team's last for a month, when it will face off against Bates on January 9th in the Yale Round Robin.
