Ticket Line Numbers Announced For Men's Hockey

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Line numbers for Cornell students intending to purchase season tickets for the 2008-09 men's ice hockey season were drawn Friday by the president of the student sports marketing group. Below are the numbers held by students who are eligible to spend time on "The Line," and to purchase season men's ice hockey tickets.

Graduate Students/Professionals (Yellow colored sheets):
Students with numbers in the range 236-287 followed by numbers 1-235.

Seniors (Salmon colored sheets):
Students with numbers in the range 320-370 followed by numbers 1-99. Once a senior's line number in this block is eligible for tickets, their underclassmen line number is automatically invalidated.

Underclassmen (White colored sheets):
Students with numbers in the range from 1028-1282 followed by numbers 1-1027.

Line numbers are not transferable. Students whose line number is not within the above ranges do not take part in the "The Line" and are automatically added to the waiting list.

Camp out:

"The Line" will begin on Friday, October 3 in the Ramin Room of Bartels Hall at 7 p.m. Items and activities prohibited from the Ramin Room include: alcoholic beverages, grills and other fire starting devices, smoking and large pieces of furniture (i.e. couch or sofa).

Random line number checks will begin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and continue until Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at which time seat selection and ticket distribution will begin.

  • Any line numbers not present during a line number check will be invalidated and that student will be placed at the end of the waiting list.
  • One student may hold up to four line numbers.
  • Cornell student IDs are not needed while holding line numbers for other students

The athletic department's concessionaire service will be available for students to purchase food and beverage during the camp out.

Seat selection and ticket distribution:

Graduate and professional students will choose among the assigned graduate seats beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday evening.

Upon the completion of the camp out at 7 p.m. on Saturday, undergraduate seat selection and ticket distribution will begin. Tickets will be selected in the following order: Students with line numbers in the senior block will select seats from the undergraduate sections; followed by selection of the remaining undergraduate seats by students with line numbers in the undergraduate block.

To select a seat, a student must have their Cornell ID and signed line number form. A student may select for another if he/she has that student's ID and signed line number form.

Seat selection for each block will begin with the first number in the ranges listed above. For instance, in the graduate/professional block, the student with line number 236 will select first, followed by the student with line number 237.

It is possible for students without consecutive line numbers to select seats at the same time. To do so, those students fall back together in line number to that of the student in their group who has the worst line number.

Students cannot move forward in line to select with friends.
