ITHACA, N.Y. -- For the second time in three weeks and the fourth time in his career, senior wide receiver Bryan Walters has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week by the conference office. Walters had one of the most productive games in Ancient Eight history in a 39-27 loss to Fordham.

Walters piled up 338 all-purpose yards, the highest in the Football Championship Subdivision this season and the fourth-best mark in Ancient Eight history against the Rans. He caught 10 passes for 178 yards and a touchdown, returned six kickoffs for 153 yards and brought back three punts for an additional seven yards, with two long runs negated by penalties. Walters became the fifth player in Ivy League history to surpass 5,000 yards and moved ahead of all-time greats like Yale's Mike McLeod and Robert Carr, Brown's Nick Hartigan and the Big Red's own Ed Marinaro in the contest and now stands behind only Clifton Dawson of Harvard (6,138 yards) and Cornell's Chad Levitt (5,117 yards) with his total of 5,096 yards. He caught a 33-yard touchdown pass by out-jumping a defender in the end zone in the second quarter, while his 43-yard reception in the first quarter eventually helped the Big Red to a 3-0 lead. Overall, Walters had three catches of 30 yards or better and now ranks third nationally with his 203.4 yards per game.

Already the conference's all-time leader in kickoff return yards, Walters enters this weekend's contest against Brown needing 23 punt return yards to set that record as well. The Big Red will host the Bears on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 12:30 p.m. at Schoellkopf Field.
