Rowing Dominates at Syracuse Fall Invitational

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Cornell rowing teams traveled up I-81 and dominated the Syracuse Fall Invitational, held this morning on Onondaga Lake. The Big Red won five-of-seven races on the day.

Race Highlights
* In the men’s varsity-4+, the Big Red took three of the top-four spots, with the Cornell A boat placing second to the Orange, while the Cornell B and Cornell C boats placed third and fourth.

* The Cornell A crew won the women’s varsity-4 (21:08.1), with the Cornell B boat placing fourth.

* In the men’s freshman-8, the Big Red took four of the top five spots, led by a victory from the Cornell A boat (17:37.3), while the Cornell B, Cornell Lightweight B and Cornell Lightweight A placed third through fifth, respectively.

* The Big Red took first and second in the women’s novice-8, with the Cornell A boat crossing the line in 20:34.5, followed by the Cornell B crew who crossed just under one-second later.

* In the men’s varsity-4+ second flight, the Big Red swept the top four spots and placed six boats in the top-seven. The Cornell Lightweight D boat won the race in 19:25.8.

* In the second flight of the women’s varsity-4, the Cornell D boat placed third.

* The Big Red took the top three spots in the second flight of the men’s freshman-8, with the Cornell A boat winning in 19:30.7.
