ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell senior forward Matt Bouraee (Manasquan, N.J.) earned first-team All-Ivy League honors in the league's annual post-season awards, the league office announced on Tuesday. Bouraee was joined in earning all-league recognition by freshmen Rick Pflasterer (Ann Arbor, Mich.) and Bennett Kenyon (Lockport, N.Y.), who both received honorable mention.

Bouraee is a four-year All-Ivy recipient, twice earning honorable mention and garnering second-team honors as a sophomore in 2007. He is the first Cornell men's soccer player to earn first-team all-league accolades since Brian Kuritzky was named to the first team in 2007.

Bouraee led the Big Red in scoring this season, tallying 16 points on a team-best five goals and sharing the team lead with six assists. He also scored a pair of game-winning goals, including an overtime strike on Saturday to lift Cornell to a 1-0 overtime victory against Columbia, cementing the Big Red's first season at or above .500 since 2001.

The senior finishes his career among Cornell's career leaders in points, finishing his four-year career tied for seventh with 48 points. He recorded 19 career goals, good for 11th all-time, and his 10 career assists finished tied for 11th all-time with two others. He recorded five career game-winning goals, ranking him tied for sixth in that category.

While Bouraee closed out his career, two others have just begun theirs by garnering honorable mention. Rick Pflasterer and Ben Kenyon both were named to the honorable mention list in their first seasons with the Big Red.

Kenyon anchored the Big Red defense, playing every minute of every game on the season, and helped the Big Red to allow 23 goals on the season in 17 games, a full 20 fewer goals than the Big Red allowed during the 2008 season. He also proved to be a threat in the air on set pieces, scoring one goal and assisting on three others to finish with five points on the year.

Pflasterer, meanwhile, came on strong at the end of the season, appearing in five Ivy League matches, starting four of those. He posted a 0.99 goals-against average for the season to go along with a .867 save percentage. He went 1-3-1 in Ivy League games, recording a shutout against Columbia, and allowed just six goals in his five Ivy League matches.
