Ohara Wins USAG National Individual Balance Beam Title

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Stacey Ohara became Cornell's first-ever USAG individual national champion on beam with a superb 9.850 score on Saturday afternoon at Southern Connecticut State. Ohara was one of seven Big Red All-Americans who competed on the day.
Ohara led a 1-2 charge by the Big Red on beam, as she finished just ahead of freshman Melanie Standridge's 9.800 as the duo earned All-America honors.
Tiffany Chen led a pair of top 10 finishers on vault by placing fourth with a strong 9.713 effort. Kerri Lavallee was ninth overall with a 9.425.
The Big Red's only competitor on bars was Jennifer Yee in a tie for eighth with a 9.625, while Maddie Pearsall (eighth, 9.725) and Emily Lenk (13th, 8.750) also competed on floor.
