ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell University men's lacrosse player John Glynn (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time this season following the Big Red's 10-7 upset victory over No. 1 Princeton on Saturday. With the win, Cornell earned a share of its seventh straight Ivy League title.

The two-time All-American won 13-of-18 face-offs (72.2 percent), including a two-for-three performance in the pivotal fourth quarter as Cornell held possession for all but 65 seconds to secure the victory. Glynn also picked up a career-high 11 ground balls and registered an assist early in the game to give Cornell a 3-0 lead.

With his 11 ground balls, Glynn has accumulated 208 for his career, making him the first Cornell player to register 200 career ground balls since Ryan McClay (2000-03).

Glynn ranks third in the nation with a .631 face-off winning percentage and is sixth in the country with 6.8 ground balls per game. He also ranks fourth on the team in points (24) and goals (17).

The Big Red will have an opportunity for an outright Ivy League title as it travels to Brown next weekend for its final conference contest against the Bears on Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m.
