ITHACA, N.Y. -- Seniors Emani Fenton and Dempsey Quinn have been invited and have accepted invitations to compete in the 2010 FCS Senior Scout Bowl it was announced today. The duo will close their careers with 86 of the top players in the Football Championship Subdivision in a North-South all-star game played at the Joseph T. St. Lawrence Sports Complex on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010. The game will be televised by Fox College Sports Television.
Fenton had an outstanding senior year at cornerback, earning second-team All-Ivy honors after ranking first in the Ivy League and 17th in the NCAA in interceptions (5) and second in passes defended (12). All five interceptions came in Ivy League contests, including two picks vs. Yale. The three-year starter was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week once during the season, when his breakup of a two-point conversion and interception in the end zone in the final minute sealed Cornell's win over Princeton. Fenton finished eighth on the team in tackles (33) and added a tackle for loss and a blocked punt in 2010.
Quinn had an outstanding year at linebacker after his move from safety as a junior. He finished third on the team in tackles with 69, including 1.5 tackles for loss and three pass breakups. Quinn also recovered a fumble. He finished with 178 career stops, including six for a loss. A playmaker throughout his career, Quinn broke up eight passes, forced and recovered three fumbles, blocked a kick, registered a sack and intercepted a pass as a three-year letter winner.
