ITHACA, N.Y.—The Big Red wrestling team won its 42-straight Ivy League match on Friday night with a 46-4 victory over Brown to secure at least a share of its eight-straight Ancient Eight title. Junior Mack Lewnes pinned his opponent at 174 pounds to break the Big Red's career pins record with 38. Troy Nickerson (125), Mike Grey (133) and Josh Arnone (HWT) all won by fall.
The match began at 125 pounds with No. 2 ranked Nickerson facing Greg Einfrank. The Big Red wrestler was up 4-1 with two takedowns heading into the second period. Einfrank chose to start the match from the down position, and Nickerson took advantage of the opportunity to turn him to win by fall in 4:04.
At 133 pounds, No. 10 Grey made quick work of TJ Popolizio. Grey notched a takedown with only six seconds off the clock and finished by pinning the Brown wrestler in 1:56.
In his first dual for the Big Red, freshman Cody Kelly won by forfeit at 141 pounds to give Cornell an 18-0 advantage.
Corey Manson took the mat against Phil Marano at 149 pounds. Manson earned the only points of the first period with a takedown, and was up 5-1 after two periods with a takedown and an opening escape. Marano escaped from his opening down position in the third period and with 2:15 in riding time, Manson won a 6-2 decision.
At 157 pounds, sophomore Derek Schreiner faced Brian Tracy. Schreiner got on the board first for Cornell in the opening period with a takedown. With an escape in the first, and another to open the second, Tracy and Schreiner were tied 2-2 going into the third. Schreiner quickly escaped to start the third period and with another takedown and riding time, the Big Red wrestler earned his first dual victory by a 6-3 decision.
Cornell led 24-0 over the Bears heading into the intermission break.
Next up for Cornell was freshman Cody Hutcheson wrestling in his first collegiate dual and faced Jeff Lemmer. Lemmer won an 18-4 major decision to give Brown its first four points of the night.
Lewnes entered his match against Jack Roberts looking for the pin. The Big Red wrestler didn't waste any time taking down his opponent and Roberts worked hard to not get turned. Lewnes took a 6-1 lead with two takedowns and two back points. Lewnes rode Roberts out for the entire second period and grabbed three points for a nearfall as time ran out. The junior chose to start the third period at neutral for Cornell and racked up a 14-2 lead before pinning Roberts in 6:30.

Senior Nate Holley won by forfeit at 184 pounds to further the Big Red's lead to 36-4.
Simaz quickly earned a 4-1 advantage in the first period with two takedowns over Branden Stearns. Simaz let Stearns up to start the second looking to grab more points and led 6-3 going into the third. The Cornell sophomore notched four takedowns and added a nearfall on his way to a 20-6 major decision.
At heavyweight Arnone led Larry Otsuka, 5-0 after the first with a takedown and three back points. The Big Red wrestler held an 11-2 advantage after two periods, and pinned his second-straight opponent, winning by fall in 5:50. Arnone's six team points brought the final score to 46-4.
Cornell will wrestle its final home match of the season at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon against Harvard at the Friedman Wrestling Center. The Big Red will honor its nine seniors as they take the mat for the final time at home.
