ITHACA, N.Y. -- After winning last night's NCAA Quarterfinal contest against Harvard by a 6-2 margin, the Cornell women's hockey team knew they would have to wait until Saturday afternoon to find out their opponent in the national semifinals on Friday.
That wait is now over. Cornell will take on top-seeded Mercyhurst in one of two games on Friday at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. Mercyhurst downed Boston University, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon to advance to the Frozen Four. The time of Friday's game will be either 6 p.m. or 9 p.m. Eastern time.
Cornell and Mercyhurst have already met twice this season, with the Lakers taking both of the two meetings by identical 4-1 margins. Those two games marked the first contests of the season for the Big Red back on Oct. 23 and 24 at Lynah Rink.
