ITHACA, N.Y -- The day started at 10:00 a.m. with the men, Connor, Max, and Branden taking on U Conn.  The first chukker was a tight back and forth battle that ended up tied.  Cornell found its rhythm a bit in the second chukker and moved out to an 11 – 7 half time lead.  Cornell started out well in the third and then the Huskies came storming back to tie the game by the end of the chukker at 14.  The Red came out firing in the fourth and built an 8 goal lead before the Huskies made their final goal. The Red would go on to win 24 – 15 and defend their NE Regional title and gain an automatic bid to the National Championships in three weeks at Univ of Virginia.

The ladies, Jess, Lizzie and Erin, followed at noon with their Championship match against the Huskies.  The Red scored the first goal and then UConn gained their only lead with a two point foul shot.  Cornell quickly responded and ended the first leading 5 – 2.  Cornell came out strong in the second and continued to build its lead making it  12 – 4 by the half.  The third saw more of the same as the Red ended the third leading 17 – 7.  The fourth saw Cornell extend its lead further and bring home the Regional title with a 24 – 9 win that punches their ticket to Nationals as well.

Four Cornell players garnered All Tournament Honors.  For the men Max took home top NE Regional honors and Branden followed with his own plaque.  For the ladies Lizzie nabbed top Honors with Erin also gathering in her own recognition.  The Cornell women's string of horses also claimed top Honors and Rooky was voted top horse on the men's side of the tournament.  All in all it was a great weekend for the Big Red.
