Women’s Tennis Returns Home to Play Host to Yale and Brown

THE MATCHUP – The Big Red (11-7) will play host to Ivy League foes Yale (12-5) and Brown (13-6) at the Reis Tennis Center on Friday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m., and Saturday, April 10 at noon, respectively.

THE SERIES VS. YALE – Cornell and Yale first met in women's tennis in 1980. The Bulldogs hold the 25-3 lead in the all-time series.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS – The Bulldogs owns a 12-5 record on the season, but is just 1-1 in the conference after defeating Penn and falling to Princeton last weekend.

LAST TIME VS. YALE – Last season, Yale swept the Big Red, 7-0.

THE SERIES VS. BROWN – The Big Red and Brown first met in the spring of 1983. The Bears hold a 21-7 lead in the all-time series.

SCOUTING THE BEARS – The Bears have been successful for most of the season, posting a 13-6 record overall, but split a pair of matches last weekend, defeating Penn before losing to Princeton to fall to 1-1 in the Ivy League.

LAST TIME VS. BROWN – Last season, the Bears swept Cornell, 7-0.

LAST TIME OUT FOR CORNELL – This past weekend, Cornell was unable to find a win against Dartmouth and Harvard. Against the Big Green, Cornell won only the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches to fall, 5-2. The next day vs. Harvard, the Big Red was able to claim the doubles point with a sweep of all three spots, as well as earning a victory at the No. 6 singles to fall, 5-2.

UP NEXT – In final weekend of action, Cornell will play host to Princeton on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m., at the Reis Tennis Center. On Sunday, April 18 the Big Red will travel to Penn for a matchup at noon.
