Quinn Named To FCS Senior Scout Bowl Preseason All-America Team

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Senior safety Dempsey Quinn has been named to the FCS Senior Scout Bowl preseason All-America second team. Quinn joined fellow Ivy Leaguers Steve Cody of Princeton (first team linebacker), Charles Bay of Dartmouth (first team defensive end), Collin Zych of Harvard (first team defensive back), Alex Gross of Columbia (honorable mention linebacker) and Jon Moore (second team defensive back), Luis Ruffalo (honorable mention offensive lineman) and Joe D'Orazio (honorable mention offensive lineman) of Penn on the preseason team.
Quinn ranked second on the team with 92 tackles and added 3.5 tackles for a loss, a sack, an interception, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles a season ago. He also blocked a kick. Quinn made a career-high 16 stops against Dartmouth, one of six games in which he reached double figures in stops. Quinn also posted 12 tackles against Harvard and 11 at Princeton and Penn. He intercepted a pass in the win at Yale.
The FCS Senior Scout Bowl is a post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA FCS Division football level. This Bowl game is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League and will be held December 11, 2010 at the Joseph St. Lawrence Sports Complex Stadium, in Ramapo, N.Y. Player selections for this showcase game begin with the announcement of the FCS Senior Scout Bowl All-America team members as listed below. This preseason team recognizes the football achievements of senior players who are entering their final season on the FCS level. The FCS Senior Scout Bowl selection committee will review player performance throughout the 2010 season. They have a committed effort to bring 86 of the top 2010 FCS players, represented in a North vs South game format, to the NYC metro area for this bowl game.
