ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell Athletic Ticket office has announced the process to purchase season tickets for the 2010-11 men's hockey season. Tickets will be sold on-line at www.CornellBigRedTickets.com beginning Wed., Sept. 22 for graduate and professional students and Mon., Sept. 27 for undergraduate students. Seat selection and pickup of tickets will take place in person on Fri., Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Lynah Rink.

Unlike in previous years, a lottery will not be used to determine seat selection; rather, the order in which students purchase tickets at www.CornellBigRedTickets.com will determine the seat selection order.

Undergraduates who have purchased tickets in past years and graduate students will be given priority to purchase tickets in a weighted system. The sale and determination of seat selection order will be conducted entirely online at www.CornellBigRedTickets.com. Students will no longer report to the Athletic Ticket Office to obtain line numbers or pay for tickets.

GRADUATE STUDENTS
Wednesday, Sept. 22
The graduate and professional student sale will begin on Sept. 22 and continue until midnight Sept. 29. Graduate students may purchase a maximum of two tickets. Ticket sales begin at 6:30 a.m. and will conclude at 9 p.m.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Students will be eligible to purchase tickets based on the following timeline:

Mon., Sept. 27
- Students who have had season tickets three times and two times previously may begin purchasing tickets at 6:30 a.m. The ticket sale will conclude at 9:00 p.m. Three-time former ticket holders will be given priority over two-time ticket holders when selecting seats on Fri., Oct. 1.

Tues, Sept.  28
- Students who have had season tickets once previously and any late-coming Monday-eligible students may begin purchasing tickets at 6:30 a.m. Ticket sales will conclude at 9:00 p.m.

Wed., Sept. 29
- All students who have not previously purchased tickets or late-comers who have had season tickets in the past. Ticket sales will begin at an undiclosed time between 6-7:30 a.m. (this has been revised). All sales will close at midnight on Sept. 29.

A list of students in their selection order will be posted on www.CornellBigRed.com on Thurs., Sept. 30.

Those students who attempt to purchase tickets before they are eligible will be moved to the end of the seat selection line and placed after everyone who purchases tickets on Sept. 29. Students will be required to pay for their ticket(s) at the time of purchase on www.CornellBigRedTickets.com, either by using a credit card or by billing the cost to their bursar account. The cost for 2010-11 season tickets, which includes 20 games, is $260. All ticket sales are final.

A modest change in the type of seating available to undergraduates is also in place in 2010-11.  Sections B and D will continue to be reserved seating. Sections A (excluding band seats), E and F will now be general admission, making it easier for friends to sit together.

Seat selection will take place in a new Seat Selection Event on Oct. 1, beginning at 7 p.m. at Lynah Rink . Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with both the Cornell men's and women's hockey teams featured at the event. Drawings for prizes will occur throughout the night. Grand prizes include free season tickets and a trip with the men's ice hockey team. A more detailed program of events will be posted on www.CornellBigRed.com prior to Oct 1. Students should arrive by 7 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 1, and must be present for seat selection and to win prizes.
