ITHACA, N.Y. --
Mike Schafer, the Jay R. Bloom Head Coach of Men's Ice Hockey at Cornell, is this week's guest on Sidelines, airing now on CornellCast. Schafer talks with show host David Keating about the game atmosphere at Lynah Rink, the 2010-11 team and the new student season ticket process.
Entering his 16th season directing the Big Red men's hockey team, Schafer is tied with St. Lawrence head coach Joe Marsh with five ECAC Hockey tournament championships, the most all-time by a single coach. He has guided the Big Red to the NCAA tournament in each of the past two seasons and is just three wins away from becoming the 46th coach in Division I to record 300 career victories.
