Campbell Named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week

ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell senior corner back Rashad Campbell has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week after his 85-yard kickoff return touchdown against Colgate. He helped the Big Red rally to make up an 11-point deficit with under two minutes to play to send the game into overtime, and his return touchdown was a big part of the reason.

Campbell, who had a kickoff return touchdown called back at Yale that went 103 yards, ranks among the school's all-time leaders in kickoff returns and showed why after the Raiders opened the second half by going up 21-10. Just 13 seconds after the Raiders grabbed the momentum back from Cornell, the senior captain snatched it back to the Big Red sideline. He caught the ball on the left sideline, ran through a scrum of tacklers at midfield and beat a pair of Colgate defenders in a footrace for the score.

At corner, Campbell made six tackles and recovered a fumble that helped set up a Big Red touchdown in the final two minutes, starting Cornell's comeback.
