Gymnastics Just Misses Season High In Tri-Meet With Towson, Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell gymnastics team had individual win or share first place in all four events, but Towson's big day on floor proved too much as the Big Red finished second in a tri-meet against the Tigers and Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon at Teagle Gymnasium. The Big Red was just off a season-best score with its 191.200, while Towson won th emeet with a 192.500. Ithaca finished third after scoring a 183.975.

Emily Santoro won the vault with a score of 9.700, tied with Towson's Megan Wooden. Maddie Pearsall and McKenna Archer were tied for fourth at 9.575. On bars, Sarah Hein was at the top of the list with her 9.675, while Alexis Schupp finished second at 9.650. On beam, Melanie Standridge posted a 9.800 that held up as the top score on any event at the meet, just beating out Maddie Pearsall and Emily Santoro's floor score (9.775), which tied them for first.
