ITHACA, N.Y. -- While many Cornell students were celebrating the end of spring semester classes on Saturday, members of the Big Red women's hockey team were donating their time for the Habitat for Humanity of Tompkins and Cortland Counties. The project underway was a home in Lansing on Women Build Weekend for Habitat for Humanity.
In all, eight members of the Cornell women's hockey program assisted with construction on the day for the house that will eventually be home to the Gagnon family. Saturday's work included building walls and working on the floor for the one-story home. Groundbreaking for the house began in mid-February, and construction is expected to be completed later this summer.
