PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Cornell women's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2012 Ivy League Preseason Poll after a vote by conference media and women's basketball sports information directors. Three-time defending Ivy League champion Princeton has been chosen to win the league.
Last season, Cornell (12-16, 6-8 Ivy) doubled both its overall win total and conference win total from the year before and returns four starters, including a pair of Honorable Mention All-Ivy performers in senior
Clare Fitzpatrick (10.8 points, 6.9 rebounds) and junior
Allyson DiMagno (10.7 points, 7.3 rebounds).
The Big Red, which came in just three points shy of fifth place Brown, opens its season on Friday, Nov. 9 at Colgate at 6 p.m.
