WASHINGTON, D.C. – Cornell senior midfielder
Roy Lang has been named an official nominee for the 2012 Tewaaraton Award, as was announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation this afternoon. Lang is one of 25 players selected.
One of the most versatile midfielders in the nation, Lang has used his athleticism to drive the Big Red on offense, defense and wing-play during face-offs over the past four years. A first-team All-American and a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection a season ago, he has registered 66 goals and 21 assists during his career. He has also picked up 126 ground balls and caused 31 turnovers. This year Lang has served as a two-way player, serving on the team's second midfield and playing a crucial role with the Big Red defense. He has 14 goals and four assists to go along with 22 ground balls and six caused turnovers.
The list of 25 nominees will eventually be cut to five finalists and a winner will be selected and
