ITHACA, N.Y. -- The baseball game between Cornell and Binghamton was wiped out by rain Wednesday afternoon. The game will not be made up.

Binghamton led, 3-0, with two outs in the top of the fifth inning when the umpires took the Big Red off the field and the tarp came out to cover the mound at about 5:20 p.m. The teams sat in their respective dugouts until about 6 p.m., but the rain was continuing with intermittent flashes of lightning when the game was called off for good.

Cornell (17-10, 5-3 Ivy League) will return to action this weekend with a four-game series at Lou Gehrig Division-leading Columbia.
