ITHACA, N.Y – The Big Red men's lacrosse team had five players honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association today as the USILA Scholar All-Americans were announced. Seniors Thomas Keith, Jason Noble, Rob Pannell, Tom Trasolini and Max Van Bourgondien were all honored.

To be named a Scholar All-American a player must be in his senior academic year and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.0. He must also be a candidate for All-American or a candidate to be a member of the North/South team.

A two-time All-Ivy selection, Keith is one of the most underrated players in the nation. A player with a high-motor, he ranks 20th in the nation in caused turnovers (1.82 per game) and 37th overall in ground balls (4.88 per game). Keith has picked up at least two ground balls in all but one game this season, including a season-high nine vs. Binghamton. He has also caused at least one turnover in all but four games in 2013, registering a season-high four caused turnovers against Binghamton and Penn.

Noble is a two-time All-American as the anchor of the 13th best defense in the nation, allowing opponents just 8.65 goals per game. He ranks 12th in the nation this season in caused turnovers (2.0 per game) and for his career, he has registered the third most caused turnovers among all active Division I defenders with 115. The Big Red's most consistent ground ball guy, Noble has registered at least one ground ball in all but one game during his career and currently has the longest streak on the team at 54 games. After holding the reigning Tewaaraton Trophy winner to just one meaningless assist and only three shots, none of which were one goal, in Cornell's 19-3 victory against Colgate, Noble was named the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week on March 11. He is the first defensemen to win the award since the 2010 season. That same week, he was honored as the National Player of the Week by the Baltimore Sun.

The all-time Ivy League leader in career points, Pannell is the first player in the history of the conference to be named Player of the Year three times. He joins Duke's Matt Danowski, Colgate's Brandon Corp, and Army's Tim Pearson as the only players in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse history to earn three conference Player of the Year honors during their career. A 2013 Tewaaraton Trophy finalist, he ranks third in the nation in points per game (5.59) and  third overall in assists per game (3.12). He owns the Cornell record for career points (347) and career assists (202), having registered at least one point in a school record 71 consecutive contests. He is one of just eight players in the history of Division I men's lacrosse to register more than 300 career points and currently ranks second all-time, needing just seven more points to become the all-time leader

One of the most underrated players for the Big Red, Trasolini has been the team's starting short-stick defensive midfielders over the past three seasons. He is a critical part of Cornell's 13th ranked defense and has amassed 52 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers in 56 career games played.

A member of the first line midfield, Van Bourgondien was named All-Ivy this season after ranking third on the team in assists (13) and is fourth overall in both goals (27) and points (40). He has registered at least one point in all but one contest this season and has accumulated season career highs in both goals and points.
