BALTIMORE — Ben DeLuca, the Richard M. Moran Head Coach of Cornell Lacrosse, has been selected as an evaluator for the upcoming U.S. Men's Lacrosse National Team tryouts, which will be held Aug. 30-Sept. 1 at Goucher College in Baltimore, Md.

"I am honored to have been asked to serve the 2014 United States Men's National Lacrosse team as a member of Player Selection Committee," said DeLuca. "I would like to thank Coach Richie Meade for this opportunity to work with him and his staff in their efforts to select the right team of players to compete for a world championship in 2014."

A total of 98 candidates, including former Cornellians Mitch Belisle '07, Max Seiblad '09, and Rob Pannell '13, are seeking a spot on the team, which will defend its world title at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships, held July 10-19, 2014, in Denver, Colo.

U.S. team head coach Richie Meade (Furman University) will oversee the tryout process. Following tryouts, US Lacrosse will announce the 40-player U.S. men's national team.
