Slogic Assigned To Columbus Crew of the MLS

ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's soccer player Patrick Slogic will begin his professional career in Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Columbus Crew it was announced today. Slogic was allocated to the Crew after three MLS clubs used a MLS Super Draft Discovery claim on the four-year Big Red starter. He will join the team for preseason camp in an attempt to make the squad.

Slogic, the 2013 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, again anchored the Big Red's back line, helping the team post a program-record goals against average of 0.60 this past season, while also serving as one of three captains. Slogic earned first-team All-Ivy honors, was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list and was also selected as a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award. Slogic was an NSCAA/Continental Tire Northeast Region first team selection for the second consecutive season and earned NSCAA Scholar All-East and Al-America accolades and was chosen to the Academic All-Ivy League team.

A 6-6 defender from Colorado Springs, Colo., Slogic finished his illustrious career with the Big Red as the program's leader in minutes played with 5,894, including 5,123 consecutive minutes played dating back to October 2010. He tallied eight goals and six assists for 22 points with four career game-winning goals during his tenure on East Hill.
