ITHACA, N.Y. — The men's squash team started its season with three victories Friday and Saturday at the Cornell Round Robin at Belkin International Squash Courts. The eighth-ranked Big Red defeated Western Ontario, Williams and George Washington.

Andrew Stone were all 3-0 in scoring matches.
Starting off with 15th-ranked Western Ontario, Cornell secured a 6-3 victory powered by a strong performance from the bottom half of the ladder and a sweep of the final rotation's three matches. With the score tied at 3, Dietz (No. 7) and Freeman (No. 4) won their respective matches in three games, then Jagtap surged past his opponent in four games at the No. 1 spot.
In Friday's nightcap, the Big Red rolled to a 9-0 victory over 14th-ranked Williams. Cornell rallied for two five-game victories in the first rotation to set the tone. Freeman trailed 2-0 at the No. 3 position before storming back. Junior
Geoff Keating trailed 2-1 only to take the fourth game of his No. 9 match in extra points, followed by a comfortable win in the fifth game. Freshman
Jordan Brail also won in five, but never trailed at the No. 4 spot.
The Big Red wrapped up the weekend with an 8-1 decision over No. 17 George Washington. Malik surrendered just five points in his three-game win at No. 9, and Brail (No. 6), Stone (No. 7) and Dietz (No. 8) also needed just three games to win matches in the bottom portion of the order. Ryan Todd won in four games at the No. 3 position.
Cornell jumps right into Ivy League play in its final match before the semester break, travelling to take on No. 6 Columbia at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.
