NEW YORK —  Tickets for The Frozen Apple are currently on sale through Cornell's athletic ticket site (http://www.cornellbigredtickets.com) or through Ticketmaster, with the best selection for Cornell fans available through CornellBigRedTickets.com. Fans have the opportunity to buy either the best available tickets or tickets in the Cornell University Fan Section. Student tickets will be available at a discounted rate at the Cornell Athletic Ticket Office in Bartels Hall.

Cornell will take on Penn State at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the "World's Most Famous Arena". This will be the Big Red's sixth appearance at Madison Square Garden, following four Red Hot Hockey matchups with Boston University in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 and the inaugural Frozen Apple event against Michigan in 2012. All five of those games have sold out.

"This is a terrific opportunity to play one of the most talked about college hockey programs in the country at such an elite venue," said Mike Schafer, the Jay R. Bloom '77 Head Coach of Men's Hockey at Cornell. "We're extremely excited to play Penn State in such a fantastic atmosphere."

This will be the first meeting between the two programs since 1944, with Penn State just rejoining the NCAA ranks for the 2012-13 season and the Big Ten Conference for the 2013-14 season. The Nittany Lions are led by head coach Guy Gadowsky, who guided Princeton for seven seasons and earned back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances in 2008 and 2009.

"We're excited to play at The World's Most Famous Arena for the first time with the support of Penn State's passionate alumni and fans in the area," Gadowsky said. "Cornell is one of the top programs in the country, and it will make for an exciting night of hockey for everyone involved."

Cornell has claimed two national championships (1967, 1970), 12 ECAC Hockey championships and seven NCAA tournament appearances in the last 12 years. Many members of the Big Red have gone on to forge careers in the National Hockey League, including the likes of Hall of Fame inductees Ken Dryden and Joe Nieuwendyk, plus current NHLers Douglas Murray (Montreal Canadiens), Matt Moulson (Buffalo Sabres), Ben Scrivens (Edmonton), Colin Greening (Ottawa Senators) and Riley Nash (Carolina Hurricanes).

"The Cornell Big Red have been involved in five sellouts at Madison Square Garden since 2007, including this year's game against Boston University," said Joel Fisher, executive vice president, MSG Sports. "The Garden has developed a strong relationship with Cornell and we are excited for their return to The World's Most Famous Arena on November 29 to battle Penn State University in the second rendition of 'The Frozen Apple'."
