ITHACA, N.Y. — With thousands of fans and alumni travelling to Ithaca for this weekend's Inauguration and Homecoming events, the Cornell Department of Athletics and Physical Education is asking for your cooperation with the following traffic and parking restrictions.
Friday, Sept. 18Visitors arriving before 5 p.m. will need to visit a Parking Information booth, as all lots around central campus require permits until that time.
The Crescent Lot will be closed all day, and cars will not be able to enter Hoy Parking Garage from 5-10 p.m. or depart from 7-10 p.m. Therefore, all fans for the volleyball matches at 5 p.m. (Seton Hall vs. Loyola) and 7 p.m. (Cornell vs. Binghamton), and the men's soccer game at 7 p.m. (Cornell vs. Duquesne) should park in the South Morrison Lot, TRB Lot or B Lot. Accessible parking will be available in the metered lot east of Bartels Hall. Please plan your arrival a 15-20 minutes earlier than normal.
The Inauguration Shuttle will make stops at the TRB and B Lots and have a stop in front of Bartels Hall until the shuttle's last run at 6 p.m. The Homecoming Shuttle will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. between stops at the B Lot bus stop and the Crescent Lot across from Bartels Hall.
Campus Road (between Hoy Road and Wing Drive) and Garden Avenue (between Campus Road and Tower Road) will be closed from 6:30-10 p.m. Hoy Road will also be closed during the Fireworks and Laser Light Show from 8:30 to approximately 9:30 p.m.
Inauguration Shuttle MapHomecoming Shuttle Information Saturday, Sept. 19The Crescent Lot (including the metered lot and the parking lots near Friedman Wrestling Center), Wing Drive parking spaces and the eastern section of Alumni Field Lot will be closed all day for tailgating. Campus Road between Garden Avenue and Wing Drive (7 a.m. to noon) Campus Road between Hoy Road and Wing Drive (7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) Garden Avenue between Hoy Road and Wing Drive (noon to 6:30 p.m.) will be closed to thru traffic for the bulk of the day.
Hoy Parking Garage will be open, but is expected to fill to capacity. Fans for the Homecoming football game at 3 p.m. between Cornell and Bucknell, and fans for any of the day's four volleyball tournament matches (11 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m.) are encouraged to park in the South Morrison Lot, TRB Lot or B Lot. Accessible parking will be available in the metered lot east of Bartels Hall. Access the accessible parking from Judd Falls Road onto Campus Road.
