ITHACA, N.Y. --- A great weekend of competition for Cornell track and field, which began on Friday night with thistoric performances on Staten Island, concluded in Barton Hall with the Cornell Sunday Invitational.

The Big Red played host to a small but competitive meet in Barton Hall and tallied five event wins and four ECAC qualifiers.

The Cornell women were led by terrific performances in the field events. Â Freshman Leena Morris had another banner day, winning the shot put with a heave of 44-6 1/4 and placing second in the weight throw at 56-5 1/4, both of which were ECAC qualifiers. Â Sophomore
Taylor Drayton had a seasonal best of 44-5 1/4 to place second in the shot to garner a spot at ECACs while sophomore
Michaela Smith (third, 42-9 3/4), and senior
Camryn Goodman (fourth, 42-1 1/4) rounded out the 1-2-3-4 Big Red sweep. Â In the weight throw, sophomore
Taylor Baker garnered fourth with a heave of 51-3.

The Big Red took the top three spots in the high jump with sophomore
Kate Gulbrandsen moving to No. 9 all-time at Cornell with a first place leap of 5-7 1/4. Â Seniors
Stephanie Izard and Liz Crissy both cleared 5-5 1/4 for a second place tie. Â In the long jump, senior co-captain
Hillary Holmes was second at 18-3 1/4 and fourth in the triple jump at 37-3 1/4, while Izard was fourth at 17-9 in the long jump. Â In the vault, freshman
Zoe Camillaci was fourth at 11-3 3/4 while junior
Maya Golliday was fifth at 10-4. Â

Cornell won three events on the track as well. Â The day got off to a strong start with a 1-2-3-4-5 sweep of the mile as freshman
Gracie Todd (5:06.16), sophomore
Mary-Alice Davison (5:07.58), sophomore
Erin McLaughlin (5:07.81), sophomore
Gillian McIlroy (5:09.18) and freshman
Chance Masloff (5:09.32) all ran well. Â Freshman
Ellery Bianco ran a strong race to win the 500 (missing the ECAC standard by only .08) in 1:17.09; sophomore
Molly Novak (third, 1:17.83), freshman Tina Welzer (4th, 1:18.76), and sophomore Kayleigh Carrillo (fifth, 1:20.01) also ran well. Â In the 800, sophomore
Caroline Markowitz was strong, winning in 2:20.70; sophomore
Devinne Cullinane (second, 2:21.52) and freshman
Brenna Remick (fourth, 2:22.94) were also in the top five with seasonal bests. Â

Rochelle Forbes had a good day, taking second in both the 60 (7.83) and 200 (26.04). Â Also placing second was senior
Kate McCormick, who ran 3:00.54 in the 1000, and senior
Meghan McCormick who ran 10:49.44 in the 3000. Â Also placing in the top five was sophomore
Anne Charles (3rd, 3:03.81) and sophomore
Jess Wojnicki (fourth, 3:07.62) in the 1000, and freshman
Cassidy Jenkins (third, 9.26) and junior
Jasmine Robinson (fourth, 9.26) in the 60 hurdles.
