ITHACA, N.Y. – Forward Josh Warren will join the Cornell men's basketball team for the upcoming 2016-17 season it was announced today by Brian Earl, the Robert J. Gallagher '44 Head Coach of Men's Basketball. Warren will add frontcourt help to a roster that returns its top 10 scorers from a year ago.

Earl inherits a squad that includes an All-Ivy League backcourt in sophomore Matt Morgan and senior Robert Hatter, the first- and third-leading scorers in the Ancient Eight, the conference's leading field goal percentage shooter in senior Darryl Smith and defensive anchor David Onuorah. Sharp-shooting senior guard JoJo Fallas, starting forward Jordan Abdur-Ra'oof and key rotation players Troy Whiteside, Wil Bathurst, Joel Davis, Stone Gettings and Desmond Fleming join Pat Smith, Kyle Brown, Jack Gordon and Joe Bayless in trying to help Cornell improve over last year's 10-18 campaign.

• Warren was a three-time all-league selection at Downingtown West HS, including a first-team pick as a senior.
• He was selected to play for the U.S. All-Stars in the Capital Classic game and in the Valor Bowl senior all-star game in his final season after averaging 15.0 points per contest.
• A league player of the year as a junior according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, he averaged 17.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
• He helped that team to a spot in the state playoffs and its first league title since 2008.
• He was a second-team all-league pick as a sophomore and ended his career as a 1,000-point scorer.
