ITHACA, N.Y. – The four Big Red representatives on Canada's National Women's Development Team squared off against Finland in the gold-medal game of the 2017 Nations Cup on Saturday. Canada was ultimately edged, 1-0, by a second period power-play goal but current Cornellians

Kristin O'Neill along with 2015 graduate Jillian Saulnier took home the silver medal.
Canada went undefeated in the preliminary round to get to the gold medal game, defeating the Czech Republic (6-2), Sweden (2-1) and Germany (5-0), and all four Big Red players appeared on the score sheet.
Saulnier, who captained the squad, scored the first goal against the Czech Republic with Bourbonnais earning an assist and O'Neill added an assist on Canada's fifth goal. Against Germany, Bourbonnais tallied three assist and Hart, who served as an assistant captain, helped out on what would prove to be the game-winning tally.
Bourbonnais, who was making her CNWDT debut, finished tied for second on the team with her four points.
The Nations Cup, formerly known as the Air Canada Cup, MLP Cup and Meco Cup, brings together Canada's National Women's Development Team and national teams from Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland for a four-day international tournament.
