TEANECK, N.J. – The No. 2 Cornell men's lightweight rowing team swept all four races on the day, downing No. 7 Columbia and No. 12 MIT to take home the Geiger Cup from Overpeck Park. The Big Red has now won the Cup in 12 of the last 15 seasons, including three of the last four.
The day started with a dominating victory in the varsity four, as Cornell's A (7:06.9) boat nipped the B boat (7:07.3), but won by open water over MIT (7:40.2).
All three eight crews finished in the same order – Cornell, Columbia, MIT – with the Big Red crossing in front of the Lions by just over two seconds in each race.
The Big Red welcomes No. 10 Dartmouth to the Cayuga Lake Inlet for its final race of the cup season as it battles the Big Green for the Baggaley Bowl on Saturday, April 29.
