ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will host many of the top squads in the Northeast for the America Trophy beginning on Saturday, April 29 at 10 a.m. out of the Merrill Family Sailing Center on Cayuga Lake. The two-day, two-division regatta serves as the MAISA Conference Championship, with the top nine finishers earning a spot at the coed national championship.

In all, 18 teams will visit Ithaca, including defending champion George Washington. Cornell took 11th overall a season ago, finishing two spots out of a trip to nationals. This season, the Big Red will need to climb even more teams after entering the season as the 12th seed. The Big Red has already qualified for the women's championship in Charleston, S.C.
