No. 1 Lightweights Cap 14th Undefeated Cup Season, Sweep Dartmouth

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 1 Cornell men's lightweight rowing team swept all three races against No. 9 Dartmouth, earning the Baggaley Bowl for the sixth straight season, and securing the program's 14th undefeated cup season, this morning on the Cayuga Lake Inlet.
 
Cornell opened the morning with a dominant win in the third varsity eight, crossing the line in 6:16.4.
 
Next up, the Big Red won the varsity eight by just under 18 seconds (5:52.9) to earn the Baggaley Bowl for the 10th time in the last 14 years. The win also improved the varsity eight to 6-0 in head-to-head competition, as the boat posted a clean slate for the third time in the last four years.  
 
The second varsity eight proved to be the closest race of the day, as it beat Dartmouth to the finish by just under 11 seconds (6:06.9).
 
The Big Red will have two weeks off to prepare for Eastern Sprints, held Sunday, May 14 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
