As a Sophomore (2017-18)
• Did not compete in any track or cross country meets.

As a Freshman (2016-17)
• Competed in two cross country meets in his inaugural season, finishing 35th overall at the Spiked Shoe Invitational and 177th at the Paul Short 8K Gold Race. 
• Ran in six meets for Cornell during the track season, highlighted by his first place finish in the 5000 at the Big Red Outdoor Invitational (15:27.58).
• Also had a third place finish in the 1500 at the Cornell Cabin Fever Invitational (4:08.69) and ran a collegiate best 4:05.28 at that event for sixth place at the Cortland Classic Invitational.

Before Cornell
• Buckholtz captained both the cross country and the track teams his senior year of high school.
• He was named All-Long Island in cross country and placed 59^th at the 2014 Nike Cross Nationals Qualifier.
• In track, he was named to All-Long Island and ran on the New York state record setting 4x1 Mile relay team.
• Buckholtz was a member of the National Honor Society while in high school.

Personal
• Frederick John Buckholtz is the son of John and Mary Buckholtz.
• He has a younger brother, John, and an older sister, Caroline.
• Caroline plays ice hockey at Brown University.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
