Biography

Senior Season - 2011
Parsons was invaluable on the back line all year, starting in 15 games and playing in all 16. One of just two remaining players from his original recruit class, Parsons served a team captain during his senior year and was part of a dramatic turnaround that saw the team go from 1-15 his freshman year to 8-2-6 as a senior. Playing nearly 1,500 minutes on the defense in 2011, Parsons was part of a back line that allowed an Ivy League-low 13 goals against all year. Parsons took two shots in his final year on East Hill, and he concluded his career with two goals, an assist and five points. He played 59 games in his career, starting a vast majority of them, and was named to the CU Inarira Classic All-Tournament Team during the 2011 season.

Junior Season - 2010
Parsons made 12 appearances in the midfield for the Big Red, earning four starts on the season. He made his debut off the bench in the season opener against Long Island on Sept. 4, then made his first start in the win against Canisius on Sept. 19.

Sophomore Season - 2009
Parsons was a key contributor on the back line for the Big Red, starting 15 of the team's 17 matches on the season. He scored a pair of goals and added an assist on the season to give him his first five career points. Parsons tied for sixth on the team in scoring on the season. He scored his first career goal in the Big Red's 1-0 victory at Hartwick on Sept. 7, then added an assist a week later in the 2-1 victory against St. Bonaventure. Parsons then came up huge again when he scored a goal in the Big Red's 2-2 draw against Penn in Philadelphia. He was also named the Cornell Athlete of the Week once during the year.

Freshman Season - 2008
Parsons stepped immediately into the lineup as a freshman, making appearances in 14 games on the back line for the Big Red. He started 11 of those contests, including each of his last 10 games. He made his first career start in the season opener against California on Sept. 5.

Before Cornell
Parsons was named to the Arizona Republic All-State second team, the Arizona Daily Star All-Southern Arizona first team and the Tucson Citizen Southern Arizona All-Star honorable mention list as a senior at Catalina Foothills HS, where he played three years of varsity soccer. He helped his high school team to the state championship in 2006 and a berth in the state semifinals in 2007. For his three year high school career, he scored 23 goals and added 13 assists while playing primarily on defense. Parsons played his club soccer for Real Salt Lake Arizona, with which he attended the Super-Y National Championships and was the USL Super Y-League Rocky Mountain Division champions. Parsons was also a member of the Arizona Olympic Development Program team from 2003 to 2007, participating in the Region IV ODP camp each of those seasons as well. His team reached the finals of the Region IV ODP championships in 2005 and won the title in 2007 before advancing to the ODP National Championship game that same season.
