Biography

At Cornell
2010-11
Jochym registered a record of 8-8 at 197 pounds.  He stepped into the starting role at the National Duals for the injured Cam Simaz and helped the Big Red capture the title.  In the finals, he topped Chris Penny of Virginia Tech, 12-8. Jochym also wrestled at the Buffalo and Binghamton Opens, as well as the Body Bar and New York State Championships.??

2009-10
Jochym did not compete.

2008-09
Jochym went 4-2 with three bonus wins at the Binghamton Open in his only varsity competition of the season.

2007-08
Jochym notched a 21-13 overall record for Cornell during his rookie campaign. He wrestled for Cornell at the Brute Binghamton Open, Nittany Lion Open, Reno Tournament of Champions and Southern Scuffle. Jochym went 4-0 at the New York State Championships to win the heavyweight title, pinning three of his opponents along the way. Jochym went 2-1 against Ivy competition to earn honorable mention All-Ivy honors. At the EIWA tournament, he recorded two wins by major decision en route to placing sixth with a 3-3 record. 

Prior to Cornell
Jochym was the New York state champion at 215 pounds from Hericks HS in 2007 after placing second at 189 pounds in 2006. A two-time team captain, he took sixth at senior nationals and has a 141-13 career record. Jochym, a scholar athlete, was also a linebacker and tight end for his football team, and ran cross country.

Personal
Maciej Jochym is the son of Joanna and Tomasz Jochym and he has an older sister and younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences where hs is majoring in environmental sciences.
