Biography

As a senior (2014-15)
• First time qualifying for the NCAA championships after placing third at the 2015 EIWA tournament.
• Went 17-16 during the season with four bonus wins.
• The seventh seed at EIWAs, he won a pair of one-point decisions to earn the automatic bid.
• Finished 11-6 against EIWA opponents and 3-7 against NCAA qualifiers.
• Topped Columbia’s Garrett Ryan, the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, three times
• Second-team All-Ivy League selection in 2015 despite missing time due to injury.
• Is 7-2 in his last nine matches entering NCAAs.
• Finished second at the New York State meet, going 3-1.

As a junior (2013-14)
• Aiken-Phillips was a unanimous first-team All-Ivy League pick in 2013-14.
• He made his first EIWA appearance, finishing fifth as part of his 23-10 campaign.
• More than half his wins, 12, came by bonus points with six coming by way of falls.
• He completed his season with an 8-3 mark in dual meets.
• Aiken-Phillips won the New York State Intercollegiates B Bracket and finished second at the Lock Haven Mat Town Open and also went 4-2 at the Southern Scuffle without placing.
• He was 2-1 at National Duals.

As a sophomore (2012-13)
• Aiken-Phillips earned first-team All-Ivy honors after going 3-0 in Ivy action with one fall.
• The Big Red sophomore is 15-8 for the season with five falls and eight total bonus wins.
• He won the B bracket of the New York State championships and earned league wins over Princeton, Penn and Columbia.

As a freshman (2011-12)
• Aiken-Phillips wrestled for Cornell at the Binghamton Open and Body Bar Invitational, as a freshman, at heavyweight.
• In his first match in a Cornell singlet, he defeated George Mason’s Adam Barnette, 7-1.
• At the Body Bar Invitational, Aiken-Phillips defeated Lock Haven’s Cody Mason by a 17-1 technical fall. 

Prior to Cornell
• Aiken-Phillips was a three-time state placer in Georgia, winning a heavyweight championship to go along with second and fourth place finishes.
• In his junior campaign, he set school and county records for pins in a season with 51.
• Aiken-Phillips twice earned All-America honors at the NHSCA Nationals, taking third as a junior and senior.
• Aiken-Phillips also captured the Super 32 championship in 2010 at 285 pounds. 
• He was an honors graduate at Central Gwinnett HS.

• Jacob Daniel Aiken-Phillips is the son of Ralph and Sharrall Phillips and has an older brother.  
• He is majoring in applied economics and management in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
