2012-13: Nevinger earned his second straight spot on the All-America podium after a fifth-place finish at the NCAA championships. He placed third at the EIWA meet to qualify for his second consecutive NCAA meet. He finished the season with a 42-12 record, posting the second most wins by a Big Red wrestler in a season. In all, 15 of his wins came with bonus points, including eight matches that ended by fall. Nevinger went 6-0 at the Southern Scuffle to win his first individual title. He defeated three future NCAA qualifiers on his way to the crown, including a 3-2 over Undrakhbayar Khishignyam (Citadel) in the finals. Nevinger won the title at the New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling championships and placed fourth at the Las Vegas Invitational and Binghamton Open. He earned honorable mention All-Ivy accolades and went 11-5 in dual meet competition.

2011-12: In his first year as a starter for the Big Red, Nevinger placed second at the EIWA tournament to automatically qualify for the NCAA tournament. Unseeded at the NCAA tournament, Nevinger opened with a win but lost his second bout to No. 2 Kendric Maple of Oklahoma. He wrestled back to achieve All-America honors, defeating three seeded wrestlers on the way. Nevinger won a 10-3 decision over North Carolina State’s Darius Little to place seventh at 141 pounds. He compiled a 33-12 overall record and was tied for second on the team in wins. At the year end team banquet, Nevinger was named the Carl W.E. Alquist Award for Most Improved Wrestler. In November, Nevinger helped the Big Red to defeat No. 3 Minnesota by upsetting No. 10 Nick Dardanes, 9-6. Nevinger opened the season with second place finishes at the Binghamton and Body Bar opens. He also took eighth at the Las Vegas Invitational and seventh at the Southern Scuffle.

2010-11: Nevinger compiled a 24-9 record at 141 pounds, including 15 bonus point victories (seven falls).  He began the season with a 5-2 performance at the Binghamton Open, placing sixth.  He followed with a fifth place showing at the Body Bar Invitational, which included a major decision, two technical falls and a pin over NCAA qualifier and EIWA runner up Casey Thome. Nevinger then grabbed third at the Mat Town Open.  He wrestled in four duals for the Big Red, including a victory over Randy Languis of Ohio State during Cornell’s run to the National Duals title and victories against Iowa State and Binghamton.  Nevinger also competed at the Southern Scuffle and the New York State Championships, where he was fifth.
