* The Noyes Community Recreation Center
The all new Noyes Community and Recreation Center (NCRC) opened in January 2007 and is helping Cornell meet the high demand for recreational, social, and fitness activities across West Campus. The center serves house residents, as well as students who live in the surrounding neighborhood, including the area's cooperative living houses, fraternities and sororities. Features include a gymnasium, fitness center, multipurpose room, bouldering wall, wireless Internet and more. A facility director develops programming in response to student interests.
An anchor for the entire West Campus community, NCRC offers students a state-of-the-art center that upholds the high standards set by Robert Purcell Union and Appel Commons on North Campus. The name of the new center reaffirms the leadership of Jansen Noyes Sr. '10; his wife, Agnes Blancke Noyes and the continuing generosity of their son Jansen Noyes Jr. '39 and other members of the Noyes family. Their foresight and initiative helped constructed the previous Noyes Center, which has been demolished.
