The 1993 Big Red
The 1993 team went 17-10 and earned its first-ever berth to the NCAA championships, losing to Nebraska in the first round. Second-year head coach Merja Connolly led Cornell to its third straight Ivy title, running through the Ivy League tournament. Entering the tournament having lost three of its last four contests, Cornell defeated Columbia (3-0), Yale (3-1) and Penn (3-0) before topping the Bulldogs 3-0 in the final. Michele Kizorek was named Ivy League Player of the Year and was a first-team All-Ivy honoree, while Jenn Drais and Shelley Zierhut earned second team honors. Honorable mention accolades were collected by Janelle Kenny and Sara Thomas.
